Capabilities
The problems we take on.
We do a small number of things to a high standard. Every engagement is led by a principal engineer who owns the architecture.
01
Cloud-native systems built on Azure and .NET
- Problem
- New systems live or die by their early architecture, and back ends that grow without one become slow to change and costly to run.
- Approach
- We design and build cloud-native systems from the ground up: resilient services, clean APIs and sensible data models on Azure and .NET, with the operational concerns designed in from the start.
- Outcome
- Services that run quietly in production for years and stay easy to reason about as the business evolves around them.
02
Cross-platform application engineering
- Problem
- Mobile and desktop estates fragment across platforms, and the cost of keeping them in step grows with every release.
- Approach
- We build application platforms across iOS, Android and AOSP, plus desktop with WPF and Avalonia, engineered to stay observable and maintainable.
- Outcome
- One platform that scales to tens of thousands of organisations and stays shippable as it grows.
03
Secure cloud-to-device platform architecture
- Problem
- Cloud, mobile and devices are often built by separate teams and only meet at the edges, exactly where security and reliability quietly break down.
- Approach
- We design the three as one platform: a single trust model, shared protocols and clear contracts between them, rather than three products bolted together.
- Outcome
- A coherent system where new device types and clients onboard in days, and the security story holds together end to end.
04
Security & identity
- Problem
- Connected products must prove what they are and protect what they carry, for the entire life of every device in the field.
- Approach
- We design the trust model deliberately: what proves its identity to what, how trust is issued and revoked as devices come and go, and how one compromised endpoint stays contained.
- Outcome
- A compromised endpoint never becomes a compromised platform, and identity is provable all the way from cloud to device.
05
Engineering leadership, tooling & DevOps
- Problem
- Strong teams still need senior architectural ownership, and the tooling to ship quickly without shipping carelessly.
- Approach
- We lead delivery hands-on: CI/CD, release engineering and the custom tooling that takes the manual work out of shipping.
- Outcome
- Faster, more reliable delivery, with the consequential technical decisions made in the open.
06
Legacy system modernisation
- Problem
- Business-critical software becomes expensive to change and risky to touch, but a rewrite from scratch is riskier still.
- Approach
- We modernise in place: untangling monoliths, replatforming to the cloud and migrating users and data incrementally rather than in one leap.
- Outcome
- The system reaches a maintainable footing with no downtime and no data loss, while it keeps serving the business throughout.
How it fits together
The hard part is the boundaries.
The seams of a distributed system, where cloud, apps and devices meet, are where security, performance and scale are won or lost. We design those boundaries deliberately: what authenticates what, where data lives, how it scales and how it fails. Get them right and the qualities follow; get them wrong and no amount of later effort fully recovers them.
